Two first half goals by Kari Boyi and Tereyamba Jibrinmakes was enough to help defending champion of the Adamu Yola Gombe South Unity Cup, Balanga United, secured a 2-0 victory against Junge United in the opening game of the sixth edition of the championship.
Boyi put the defending champions ahead in the 13th minute of the game with a bottom corner shot with Jibrin makes making it two just six minutes later.
Meanwhile, up and coming Nigerian artist, Jibrin Bappa Wayas also known as Eddy-X, thrilled the crowd that thronged the Olusegun Obasanjo Stadium, Kaltungo, for the opening ceremony of the 6th Adamu Yola Gombe South Unity Cup.
Eddy-X, a hip-hop/R n B singer; a native of Kaltungo LGA and a final year Sociology student of University of Maiduguri, Borno state.
Eddy-X joined the entertainment industry as a choreographer, but later switched gear to a performing music artist in 2015, dropping mind blowing songs like “Hoping for good” the same year 2015 and the hit song “Arewa” that punched the Beat collaboration IHM Awards in 2016, with so much recognition in the state and beyond.
The competition continue on Monday with Dala Waja United playing against Kulani United at the Talasse Township Stadium by 3.30pm.

We the inhabitants of Gombe South are Proud of the The Adamu Yola Unity Football Competition……. The competition places our zone in good light and fosters Unity in our Zone
